Established in 2001, New Home Inspections is the original new home inspection specialist in Melbourne and to our knowledge Australia. We were the innovators who developed the concept of carrying out inspections for owners during the construction of their new homes.

We have to date carried out over 16, 000 quality inspections, so you can rest assured that you’re dealing with proven long term experts when dealing with us.

Our Managing Director, Kevin McDonald has been working in the residential building industry for over 30 years. Starting out as an apprentice he has worked his way through as a sub-contractor carpenter and a Registered Building Practitioner running his own building firm. For the last 15 years he’s been busy building and running New Home Inspections. Kevin is a past member of the Master Builders Association and still holds membership with the HIA.

As an Expert Witness Kevin has provided evidence in a number of matters against some of Melbourne’s major builders, both before the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) and the Building Dispute Board that have resulted in our clients successfully having their defective works totally reconstructed or gaining substantial monetary compensation.

While we truly believe that all building defects and disputes should be resolved on site, something that we always vigorously work towards, it is these past successful litigation results that bode well for us in being given the due respect by builders to work with us, as working against does not end well for them!

Kevin has handpicked our team of inspectors include Rob Doedens, Theo Paas and Greg Wright, each of whom have also had over 30 years’ experience within the residential building industry and who have also all operated their own building firms during that time.
